b. Reference to His Work in His Earthly Manifestation.

(1) The . “The angel answered and said unto her, The Holy Ghost shall come upon thee, and the power of the Highest shall overshadow thee: therefore also that holy thing which shall be born of thee shall be called the Son of God” (). Never in Scripture do we find that Jesus is declared to be the Son of the Spirit. The Holy Spirit produced the body, sinless; “a body hast thou prepared me” (), not the Person.

(2) The . “Now when all the people were baptized, it came to pass, that Jesus also being baptized, and praying, the heaven was opened, and the Holy Ghost descended in a bodily shape like a dove upon him, and a voice came from heaven, which said, Thou art my beloved Son; in thee I am well pleased” (). See also Mark 1:10, 11; John 1:32, 34.

(3) The . “Jesus being full of the Holy Ghost returned from Jordan, and was led by the Spirit into the wilderness, being forty days tempted of the devil” (). See also Matthew 4:1; Mark 1:12.

(4) The . “God anointed Jesus of Nazareth with the Holy Ghost and with power: who went about doing good, and healing all that were oppressed of the devil; for God was with him” (). See also Luke 4:16-21.

(5) The . “He whom God hath sent speaketh the words of God: for he giveth not the Spirit by measure” (, R.V.).

(6) The . “If I cast out devils by the Spirit of God, then the kingdom of God is come unto you” ().

(7) The . “Jesus being full of the Holy Ghost returned from Jordan and was led by the Spirit into the wilderness” (). See also Luke 10:21, R.V.; Hebrews 9:14.

(8) The . “How much more shall the blood of Christ, who through the eternal Spirit offered himself without spot to God, purge your conscience from dead works to serve the living God?” ().

(9) The . “If the Spirit of him that raised up Jesus from the dead dwell in you, he that raised up Christ from the dead shall also quicken your mortal bodies by his Spirit that dwelleth in you” ().

(10) The . Luke tells us that in his Gospel he wrote “of all that Jesus began both to do and teach, until the day in which he was taken up, after that he through the Holy Ghost had given commandments unto the apostles whom he had chosen” (). See also Acts 1:8.
